| Interesting data from Poland and Europe |
In Poland in 2008 - 18 243 herds were registered, it's mean they were under utility control. If we compare these results with 2007, then we have 3, 53% improvement. In the end of 2008 average registered herd size was - 31,52 cows per farm. In other ICAR (International Committee for Animal Recording) countries, in 2007 we have these results: Hungary - 334 Czech Republic - 165 Netherlands - 70,9 Italy - 62,3 Germany - 52,4 France - 41,5 Finland - 24,6 Switzerland - 16,9 Austria - 15,4 In Poland only 21, 32% cows is registered (under utility control). This is poor result. Let's see how it's look like in other countries (data from 2007): Czech Republic - 97% Germany - 85% France - 66% Spain - 51% Ireland - 42% Milk yield from registered herds in Poland in last few years (kg of milk per cow) : 2000 - 5379 kg 2001 - 5597 kg 2002 - 5712 kg 2003 - 5851 kg 2004 - 6152 kg 2005 - 6508 kg 2006 - 6664 kg 2007 - 6688 kg 2008 - 6817 kg More data you can find on internet site - Polish Federation of Cattle Breeders and Dairy Farmers.
